When it comes to helping young athletes reach their full potential, two qualities rise to the top: strength and speed. These aren’t just physical traits—they’re the building blocks of long-term athletic development. Our speed and strength training for youth focuses on laying that foundation early through age-appropriate coaching, fun challenges, and consistent progress.
💪 Strength: Building the Base
Before athletes can move fast, they need to move well—and that starts with strength. For middle school athletes, proper strength training is about:
Developing body awareness and balance
Building muscle safely and effectively
Preventing injuries and improving posture
Boosting confidence through progress
Strength training doesn’t mean lifting heavy weights right away. It means learning how to control your body, activate the right muscles, and create a strong base that supports every movement—on the field, court, or track.
🏃♂️ Speed: Adding the Power
Once that foundation is in place, we layer in speed development. Sprinting, jumping, and cutting all depend on an athlete’s ability to apply force quickly and efficiently. Our speed training focuses on:
Sprint mechanics and body positioning
Acceleration drills and quickness
Change of direction and agility work
When strength and speed are developed together, the results are powerful. Athletes move with more confidence, react faster, and perform better in any sport they play.
At Power & Pride Strength & Speed Camp, our 3-hour daily sessions help middle school athletes:
Master the basics of strength and speed through fun, expert-led drills
Gain confidence from noticeable improvements
Build the physical and mental tools needed for long-term success
